After a year since the release of the Playstation 3 and reporting on the release at the Nicollet Target store in Downtown Minneapolis, I now have my own Playstation 3! I purchased the 40GB version with the free Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray movie. I know that some of you are trying to say to me on why I didn’t get the 60GB with the backwards compatibility. Well, I originally was planning on getting one, but after much debate with myself, i know that I didn’t even play any PSOne games and rarely any PS2 games (the God of War series, Guitar Hero, the Kingdom Hearts series, and Final Fantasy XII are the only games I’ve played on the PS2). So I though it was better off to just save $100, especially for a console that plays Blu-Ray movies. If I decide to play one of the games that I’ve already played on the PS2, I can just go and get a PS2 for a little over $100.
Anyways, one of my main reasons why I got the Playstation 3 is mainly the Blu-Ray player. It’ll also play DVDs and CDs also. I have a DVD/VCR combo player, but I don’t even have any VHS tapes with me, so the VCR part is useless to me, and I want it to have good use. So, I decided to give the player to my parents, since they were planning on getting one, and this will save them money, especially $150 when I got it a few years ago. Now the PS3 goes perfect with my Toshiba HDTV, and can experience HD movies better than ever with Blu-Ray. Right now I’m planning on getting an HD-DVD player since both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray will be around till the next generation of discs arrive.
