It’s Been a LONG While!

okc_thunder

Man, it’s been several months since my last post, which was about Adobe CS4. So it’s time for another HUGE Random News! This time, I’ll finally get around to reviewing the Oklahoma City Thunder and Campaign for Liberty logos I promised to review, along with where I am right now, good games to get or look forward to, good movies to see in 2009, and hopefully some more things that I can think of to type up.

This first paragraph is dedicated for the logo of the brand new NBA team that moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle. OKC Thunder is the newest team in the NBA since the Charlotte Bobcats. Once I saw this logo for the Thunder, I literally put my head down and shook in disgust. I saw the logo in a video with heavy, dark clouds with lightning and thunder in the background, which made me think that this logo was going to be awesome, but once they showed the logo, it was just a slap in the face, really. This has got to be once of the worst sports logos, EVER, and the color scheme is just… plain… horrible. The logo does not associate to Thunder what-so-ever. All sports teams have a logo that associate to the teams name. This is like a generic logo that EA Sports would make. I mean, making a logo shouldn’t be that hard, especially when it comes to thunder and lightning. Whoever works for this team, look at the Tampa Bay Lightning logo, and think of something creative, and I’ll make one for them and post it on here later. I hope they pick-up on this review and hopefully the logo I created (when I get it up) which I think would be awesome for the team.

Now with that Thunder review out of the way for good, now it’s time to review the Campaign for Liberty logo. This campaign was started by former Republican Presidential Candidate, Ron Paul, whom I supported for. He created Campaign for Liberty in September 2008 with the funds from his presidential campaign which is to promote liberty and the U.S. Constitution. The logo for CFL is pretty cool looking. It associates to what it’s standing for, and the color scheme is no surprise to me, since the campaign deals with American liberty and tradition. It would be cool if they had an alternative, modern contemporary logo too, which I’ve been wanting to make for quite sometime and show them it.

Well, since September last year, I’ve been doing fine. I graduated from college in September, ended my internship with the Minnesota Lynx in September, and I got a full-time job in September. From what I can remember, I was the only graduating student that had a full-time job secured, which was surprising to me because I would think others would’ve gotten a job by then. But anywho, I was hired by Clear Channel, which is a corporation that does syndicated radio and television; however, the Minnesota branch only does radio. So my position there is Online Content Coordinator, which I manage KDWB.com. When someone in the same group is on vacation or sick, I’ll manage the site that they manage, if given the opportunity. Ever since working there, I’ve seen famous musicians, along with Adrian Peterson of the Vikings and Will Smith, which he was at my work promoting his latest film, Seven Pounds. So that’s the gist of where I’m at right now, nothing too exciting or new as of yet.

Though, however, I’ve been in the process of redesigning the website with a new, efficient layout, mascot and logo. I’ve been getting some complaints that the website lags and should recommend of having a static version of the site. Well, I will be doing those things and making the flash version of the site load faster and at the same time, have the same high quality. Which also means that I’ll be changing the layout of this blog and make it more news-like. I should also upgrade the back-end of this blog to the WordPress 2.7, which I’ve done for my other site, DetectiveShinichi.com. So I will keep you posted on the progress of the new JasonNessa.com.

Now, if you think that 2008 was a good year for movies, 2009 will be another great year for films. The movies for 2009 that I think that you should look forward to are Dragonball: Evolution, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Up, Pink Panther 2, Friday the 13th, AstroBoy, Watchmen, Terminator: Salvation, The International, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Star Trek, Monsters vs. Aliens, and 2012. That’s a pretty good-sized list of good movies to look forward to this year. The one that I’m really gearing to is Dragonball: Evolution, since Dragonball is my all-time favorite anime and first one that got me into anime. But, I’m also looking forward to The International, which is about a person wanting to take down an international bank which is causing many problems around the world. However, really, I’m just looking forward to all of them.

There are quite a few games that are awesome to look into buying or at least rent. Probably one of the best games I’ve played so far (Besides Metal Gear Solid 4 which is the best one I’ve played) would have to be Little Big Planet. The game is about these hacky-sack-like beings going through a cardboard-like world just like a Mario Bros. game. You can also create levels and play them with your friends at home or online. Another good game to look into is Mercenaries 2. The continuation of its awesome predecessor, Mercenaries 2 takes the gameplay to the next level. You can literally destroy almost anything, even trees this time, which you couldn’t in the first Mercenaries game, which this makes the gameplay much more realistic. I recommend checking this game out. However, the only bad thing I have against this game is that if you want to use cheat codes, you have to be signed online for sometime to get the cheat codes activated, which to me is unheard of in order to activate cheat codes; I learned that the hard way. Besides the games to look into, there is one game to look forward to, which is the anticipated God of War III. This game was originally going to be released in March, however delayed its release in November. Anywho, God of War III will finally be released on the Playstation 3, which can translate to mean that this game will be much bigger than the last two games and of course be much more realistic and detailed. The game will most likely become the biggest game for the PS3 since Metal Gear Solid 4. So look forward to that game if you have a Playstation 3.

Well, that’s all I have on my mind for now. I’ll try to post more blogs on here this year, since I’ll be redesigning my portfolio site and this blog. So check back on the progress!
