I was just checking out IGN Movies here earlier today and found some pretty good movie news, and thought to share those with you here.
The first bit of news; Paul Reubens, who played as the infamous Pee-Wee Herman, will be joining among other cast for the upcoming CGI film, “The Smurfs”. Some say that he’ll be taking on the role of Jokey Smurf. He’ll be joining Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf, Katy Perry as Smurfette, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf, and Alan Cumming as Gutsy Smurf. A live-action cast will include Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara, Jayma Mays, and Hank Azaria as Gargamel.
More movie news; Warner Bros. and Legendary have confirmed a sequel for the “Clash of the Titans” remake starring Sam Worthington. However, though, they’re going ahead without Louis Leterrier as director, but say that he’ll be involved as the executive producer of the film. Greg Berlanti, who scripted the “Green Lantern”, will write the script for the sequel. Worthington will reprise his role as Perseus.
Other news; a trailer for the newest DC animated film, “Batman: Under the Red Hood”, was finally released and will be coming to Blu-Ray & DVD soon. The new Batman animated film looks very promising, and has that same feel/atmosphere like Nolan’s Batman. You can check out the trailer here.
Last thing on this; Dreamworks Animation has confirmed a sequel to its highly successful CGI film, “How To Train Your Dragon”. With the film grossing over $375million worldwide, this will become Dreamwork’s next franchise after Shrek. The sequel is expected to be released in theatres sometime in 2013 and will be in 3D.
