My Take On The Firefox 4 Beta

I noticed yesterday when I got to work was that Firefox has been doing beta tests on v4 (version 4) of its browser. It looked pretty enticing and decided to give the beta test a shot, and downloaded it onto my work computer. I also found out that they’ve released a beta version of the browser for mobile phones, which is what I’ve been looking forward to since I got my Droid phone back in June; so I installed the Firefox mobile browser onto my phone as well.

Big Ten Reveals New Logo, Division Names

At high-noon today on the Big Ten Network, Commissioner Jim Delany reveals the new Big Ten logo, the Division names and as well as names for the newly-formed 18 trophies, which can be found on the conference’s website here. This was totally unexpected to see this announcement , when they mentioned that these would’ve been announced either on December 1st or early January. Nonetheless, I’m excited to see this news; however, I have some mixed reviews on the new logo and the names of the Divisions.

Nerd Talk: YouTube 3D

3D has now started to become something that I really enjoy and really can’t get enough of. My first 3D Full-Length Feature Film I saw was ‘Clash of the Titans’, which I thought was pretty good, even though they rushed the 3D conversion in post production. I then saw two more films in 3D, ‘Legend of the Guardians’ and ‘Jackass 3D’, and both experiences have much improved since I saw ‘Clash of the Titans’. So far, IMAX 3D formats has been a better experience than Real D 3D when it comes to seeing films in 3D. I’m hooked to the format so much, that I purchased an Aiptek flip cam that can record video and take photos in 3D (which I’ll discuss more on my next installment of Nerd Talk). I wanted to see more 3D films, but had limited access to it. I started surfing around the interwebs until I stumbled upon something that surprised me: that YouTube does 3D.

Cool Dollar Designs

While going through Facebook today, a person that I’m following on their shared a link to an MSNBC news post that a person named Richard Smith who founded the Dollar Redesign Project. He says that the dollar’s design has rarely changed for the past 80 years and that it looks dull, bloodless, etc. while other currencies around the world that have vibrant colors, life and so much more. So Richard Smith decided to start-up the Dollar Redesign Project where graphic artists can submit their versions of the almighty Gold & Silver receipt, monopoly note and vote which one is best.
