Winnipeg Jets Logo Review

winnipeg_jets

For the first time in 15 years, NHL is back in Winnipeg and using the same name as the last NHL team that called Winnipeg home, the Winnipeg Jets. Three logos were revealed at 4pm Central Time last Friday. It’s really nice that they kept the same color scheme; however, they’ve darkened and saturated the colors a bit, which I believe gives the mark an awesome, clean look.

My Take On The MWC Logo, Pac-12 & Pac-12 Championship Logos

mountainwest

With a new college football season just around the corner, it’ll be a lot different this year than last year with some conferences adding new schools or losing schools they once had. An NFL official that was at the unveiling mentioned that the logo for the Super Bowl changes every year ever since its inception, and they decided to finally make a permanent logo for the big game.

New Best Buy Logo

bestbuy

I should have reported this on August 7th, however, I was kind of busy taking care a few things. But anyways, Best Buy opened a brand new store at Mall of America on August 7th at 6:00pm Central Time. The new store at MOA is the first to carry out the new identity and brand for Best Buy. The color scheme is the same, but the blue is a navy blue color. The ‘Tag’ symbol has been simplified with a more outlined look, and has 5 points instead of 6 points on the ‘Tag’. The font for Best Buy is one of the major things that makes the new Best Buy brand slick. The font looks like a relative of the NeoSans font family, but it has more pointier edges than NeoSans. The replicated logo above will give you a very close look of what the new logo looks like, but NOT the exact look.

Iowa Stars… Now the Iowa Chops

iowa_chops

I just found out today when I went to the Iowa Stars website to see anymore news on their new nickname or whatever. So once I got there, I saw that they changed their name to the Iowa Chops. I was thinking and asking myself why they chose this name and logo at first. But I went on and read further into why they chose this name for the team. The reason was that Iowa is the #1 exporter in the nation in pork, of course. They wanted a name that would associate with Iowa’s roots, instead of names of natural disasters and existing team names. After reading all of that, I like what they did, and I like the logo as well, to where I made a copy through Adobe Illustrator, and you can view it by clicking on the thumbnail image. The Iowa Chops is a hockey team in the AHL (American Hockey League).
